First Post

So this is me blogging (with no friends) but you have to start somewhere! It's the middle of winter here in Australia and it is MISERABLE!  But it is a perfect time for me to learn a new craft!  SEWING... So two months ago my Mum bought up her Bernina 830 (which is as old as me) and showed me how to sew a straight line, zig zag and reverse.  How to lift the foot, change the foot, feed the bobbin and needle all those basic things I probably should have known from Grade 8 Textiles!  So I set to work on a quilt for my baby boy.  I typed into my search engine 'How to sew a quilt' and after finding so many easy to follow tutorials I managed to sew my first quilt and here it is, the finished product.  I have since also sewed the kitty cushion from Amy Butler free patterns and made the caterpillar cushion!

You've written a great tutorial and I love the little pouch you've sewn. Love the edging against the black.
