Quilt Block Challenge Entry

I have just completed my first block to submit to the Happy Hour Projects - Quilt Block Challenge(yes I intend to enter more than one, what better motivation to practice my quilting than a challenge!).  The pattern I used came from The Better Homes and Gardens 501 quilt blocks

My nan let me borrow this book and this is the first pattern I have used from it.  All the blocks in this book are 4" x 4" so I had to enlarge it to 12" x 12" but it worked out ok.

This block came together really easily and I now plan on doing the Giraffe, Monkey and Zebra, then add some sashing and have myself a jungle theme quilt for a sweet little boy who turns 1 next month:)
